How to Request a Release Takedown

Modified on Tue, 16 Dec, 2025 at 11:19 AM

If you need to remove a release from DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), please follow the steps below to ensure the takedown is processed as quickly as possible.

Step 1: Email the Takedown Request

Send an email to support@rapturemusic.co with the following details:

Subject line:
Takedown Request – UPC

Email body must include:

  • Release UPC (mandatory)

  • Reason for takedown (e.g. incorrect audio, rights issue, metadata error, re-release planned, etc.)

Requests without a UPC cannot be processed.

Step 2: Processing Timeline

  • Once we initiate the takedown, it can take up to 24 hours for the release to be removed from DSPs.

  • Some platforms may update faster or slower depending on their internal refresh cycles.

Please note:

  • A takedown cannot be reversed once fully processed.

  • Royalties generated before the takedown will still be reported as usual.

  • If you plan to re-release the same project, ensure all issues are fully corrected before resubmission.

Need Urgent Assistance?

If the takedown is time-sensitive (e.g. legal, copyright, or DSP enforcement issues), clearly mark your email as URGENT in the subject line.

If you’re unsure whether a takedown is the best option, feel free to contact support first and we’ll advise on the best next step.
